Movie Review: Mystic Pop-up Bar - NETFLIX

"Mystic Pop-up Bar" is a South Korean fantasy drama series that takes viewers on a delightful and heartwarming journey through the supernatural realm. Released in 2020, it quickly gained popularity for its unique storyline, endearing characters, and a perfect blend of comedy, drama, and mystery.

The story revolves around Wol Joo (played by Hwang Jung-eum), a mysterious woman who runs a pop-up bar that appears only at night to help troubled souls resolve their grudges and find solace. Alongside her is Han Kang-bae (played by Yook Sung-jae), a young man with the ability to make people confess their deepest secrets just by touching them. Together, they embark on a mission to heal the wounds of their customers and deliver messages of forgiveness and closure.

One of the strengths of "Mystic Pop-up Bar" lies in its imaginative and well-crafted narrative. Each episode unveils a new ghostly story, exploring themes of regret, redemption, and the power of human connection. The series strikes a beautiful balance between lighter comedic moments and more poignant, emotional scenes. The episodic format also allows for individual stories to be resolved satisfyingly, while an overarching plot keeps viewers engaged throughout the season.

Since Halloween is just around the corner, Disney + comes out with a new horror show that contains eight short stories written by the famous author R.L.Stine. He is often referred to as the "Stephen King of children's literature."  

Stories that contain morals and messages behind them are always powerful. It's crazy to see that how words can be so powerful. The title of the show is Just Beyond. So these are the morals of the story from my point of view.

Episode One: Leave them kids alone.

When 14-year-old activist Veronica Vanderhall is suspended from school, her parents send her to Miss Genevieve’s School for Difficult Girls, which claims to have an impeccable record for rehabilitating complicated girls with a “streak.” Miss Genevieve and her students appear to be the picture of perfection, with impeccable manners and identical, immovable hairdos. However, Veronica soon discovers that those impeccable manners mask a dark secret and hatches a plan to help the girls regain their voices. 

Moral of the story:

Listen to your kids. They cannot be a child forever. Just because they change does not mean they stop loving you. 

Episode Two: Parents Are From Mars, Kids Are From Venus

Jack and Ronald, 14-year-old best friends, swear their parents get weirder every day. But their embarrassment turns to shock when boys stumble into the adults’ game night and discover their parents dressed in ornate robes, chanting and levitating objects. Are they witches? In a cult? They seek help from the owner of a local curiosities shop, who suspects their parents are aliens. As the families hit the road for a shared trip to a remote lake house, Jack and Ronald fear for their lives. 

Moral of the story:

I kinda lost in this story. But what I can conclude here is to accept your family as who they are. After all, only them that we got.

Episode Three: Which Witch 

As the only witch at her high school, Fiona has learned that the safest way to navigate her teen years is to blend in. She’s over the moon that her secret crush, Emilio, has asked her to the homecoming dance. Then, her parents drop a bomb. Cousin Luna — who Fiona loves but considers “fresh off the broomstick” — is arriving from England and attending Fiona’s school. Unlike Fiona, Luna is proud of being a witch and eager to show off her magical abilities. Fiona must decide if she’ll continue to hide … or let them see the witch. 

Moral of the story:

You are who you are. Be proud of what you are.

Episode Four: My Monster

Outwardly, Olivia appears to be handling her parents’ recent divorce quite well; but inside, she’s anxious and overwhelmed. It doesn’t help that her family’s new place, her mother’s childhood home, has squeaky floorboards, flickering lights, and a seriously creepy vibe. Olivia’s fears are validated when she comes face-to-face with a masked, hulking humanoid who quickly vanishes. When the heart-pounding haunting continue, Olivia and her neighbor Graham set out to solve the mystery of the masked monster. 

Moral of the story:

you have to make peace with the past in order to move on and live peacefully.

Episode Five: Unfiltered

Lily Renton, the smart yet plain star of her high school’s Quiz Bowl team, often compares herself to celebrities and admires the popular girls at school. Just once, she wishes someone would think of her as beautiful, rather than smart. Her wish comes true when a substitute teacher introduces Lily to an invite-only beauty app that magically transforms her appearance. 

Moral of the story:

People often choose outer beauty over inner beauty whereas inner beauty is the most important than that. 

Episode Six: We've Got Spirits, Yes We Do

Fourteen-year-old Ella should be excited about her class field trip to the legendary Fox Theatre. Unfortunately, her ex-best friend, Zoe, is also going. At the theatre, a tour guide tells the tale of a 1938 fire that claimed the lives of an acting troupe in rehearsal. Legend has it, the dead thespians are looking to pluck the living and drag them into their phantasmal acting troupe. When personal with Zoe sends her running off, Ella finds herself trapped in the theater after dark, and in the middle of a ghostly drama. 

Moral of the story:

Make peace with your past. Forgiving and forgetting and the most important part is always believed in yourself.

Episode Seven: Standing Up for Yourself

The idyllic town of Larkinville is tormented by 13-year-old Trevor Larkin, a bully with a menacing scar and massive build. Trevor is particularly pumped when a new student, aka an ideal target, arrives at school. Fourteen-year-old Evan Burger wears glasses, hand-me-down clothing, and a prosthetic leg that makes him walk with a slight limp. But appearances can be deceiving and when Evan stands up for himself, Trevor’s actions will change his life — and Larkinville — forever

Moral of the story:

Be kind to everybody.

Episode Eight: The Treehouse

It’s been nearly a year since Sam’s dad passed away, and after saving up his money, Sam just became the proud owner of his late father’s favorite comic in mint condition. That is until the neighborhood bully snatches it and tosses it in a puddle. Wrecked, Sam retreats to the treehouse he and his father built; but lightning from a fast-moving storm cracks a branch and sends him tumbling to the ground. He awakens in an alternate universe, where strange yet familiar encounters ultimately lead him to an excruciating choice. 

Moral of the story:

Be careful with what you are wishing for. Sometimes you have to accept the past and embrace the current moment.

Black Widow Avengers꘡ AD berkesempatan untuk tonton movie ini dalam cinema! Sehari selepas movie ni release AD terus tengok sebab cinema dah buka dan AD memang dah lengkap 2 dos. Paling best tu dalam cinema lengang giler. SOP memang dijaga. Movie ini adalah sequel kepada Captain America:Civil War dan prequel kepada Avengers: Infinity War. 

Permulaan kisah pada tahun 1995 diwaktu Natasha Romanoff masih kecil. Natasha dan adiknya, Yelena Belova terpaksa berpindah daripada kediaman mereka di Ohio dan diserahkan kepada Dreykov untuk di training di Red Room. Okay waktu AD baru tahu si Natasha ini ada adik, terkejut juga lah tapi excited juga sebab nak tahu ending diaorang mcm mana sebab Natasha ni terpaksa berpisah dengan adik die lebih tepatnya dipaksa untuk berpisah.Natasha try to protect adik dia sebab die tahu mcm mana training di red room (die pernah training disana dan berjaya melepaskan diri) tetapi since die masih kecil, die tak dapat selamatkan adik die.

21 tahun kemudian, setelah adik Natasha (Belova) di brain wash dan menjadi leader untuk girls army by Dreykov dan kemudian nya diselamatkan oleh salah sorang ejen lama dengan menggunakan Red Dust. Belova kemudiannya meminta pertolongan daripda Natasha untuk menyelamatkan rakan-rakan nya dan bermula misi mereka untuk mencari Red Room.

AD taknak bagi tahu ending atau spoiler untuk cerita ini nanti tak best la kan. What I can say is AD suka sangat dengan karakter Belova ni. Sangat ceria, bersemangat,innocent, memang perangai seorang adik la. Rasa macam personality lebih kurang je dengan AD. LOL. Karakter Natasha dengan Belova ni sangat la berbeza. Manakala Natasha lebih kepada seorang yang matang, perangai hakak-hakak sangat. 

Anda juga akan disajikan dengan fighting scene yang bagi AD wow! sound system yang marvelous dan banyak scene yang kelakar dan unexpected truth. Movie ini rated as PG-13 sesuai di tonton bersama anak-anak. Sekarang anda boleh tonton di Disney tau. Ada yang dah tengok movie ni tak? korang punya favorite character siapa? Share la dengan AD

 A star is born ꘡ Movie ini release pada tahun 2018. Ini merupakan remake movie kepada tahun 1937 dan 1954. Movie ini juga terdapat remake dalam versi Hindi juga iaitu Ashiqui 2. Kita beralih pula kepada para pelakon di dalam movie ini. Antara pelakon yang terlibat adalah Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga, Dave Chappelle, Andrew Dice Clay and Sam Elliott. Lebih menarik apabila Bradly Cooper sendiri yang produce and direct this movie.

Seasoned musician Jackson Maine discovers -- and falls in love with -- struggling artist Ally. She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer until Jackson coaxes her into the spotlight. But even as Ally's career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jackson fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.

A story about Jack, a famous country-rock singer who privately battling an alcohol and drug addiction discover and fall in love with Ally (Gaga). Let me ask you a question. Would you stay in a relationship that is so mutually destructive, or would you walk away? Even I can't answer it. Love is always too subjective. The complicated feelings. The unpredictable. Honestly, I'm still can't move on with this movie. Thanks to Cooper for the mixed feeling that I felt.The pain, the sorrow, the unbelievable ending.Really like mind-blowing. 

The first half of the movie was fantastic, and I can feel all the intimacy between Cooper and Gaga. However, when turning to the second half, the two of them is no longer functioning as a unit. Gaga changed a lot! and what Cooper wants is the old Gaga that writes meaningful songs. It's painful to see someone that you love and care turn into a different person. Gaga’s character is reflective of some of the modern struggles women experience when it comes to fame. She struggles with appeasing to the masses, dressing differently, standing out in a disingenuous way, the perils of social media and paparazzi and all in the name of selling more hits. The screenplay, cinematography and music were also deemed as its high-point.

What I like about this movie, it makes me wonder. How come a person who is so talented ruined his own life. You can't be depending on drugs/alcohol forever to run away from your problem. Sooner or later you have to deal with your problem.

Thank you cooper for highlighting Mental health as the main subject in this movie. Did you know that Mental health reflects “our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. ” Affecting “ how we think, feel, and act,” mental health has a strong impact on the way we interact with others, handle problems, and make decisions. WHO points out that some 800,000 individuals die by suicide each year, about 20% of the world’s children and adolescents have a mental disorder, and depression affects about 264 million people worldwide. The saddest part is people still think mental illness is not important as a normal disease.

 So guys please do watch it and tell me your opinion Okay.

 

Secret Magic Control Agency ꘡This movie also known as Hansel & Gretel. It is a 2021 English-language Russian computer-animated spy fantasy adventure comedy family film. Hansel and Gretel of fairy-tale fame -- now acting as secret agents -- must use magic, clever thinking and teamwork on a mission to find a missing king.

I can say that this movie full of colors. Seems entertaining for the kids with the stunning visuals. However,if you look closely there is a lot of scenes of mushroom. Especially when Hansel and Gretel on their mission to safe the king from the evil Elvira and the mushroom is shown are psychedelic mushrooms(magic mushrooms). Even the main antagonist Elvira has one as her necklace which I believed it is a not good influence to the younger kids which may lead to advertise the use of drugs.

Have you ever wonder, when you getting older you will lose your inner child inside you. You become more tense, all about duty, money and work,work and work. In this movie you will see that Hansel and Gretel re-imagined status as “young adults” versus them as kids allows viewers to see a vulnerable side to each of them. A fun time for kids, all while learning a lesson on how each of our qualities serves a purpose.

Really fun movie with a nice story and ending. It’s great a palette cleanser when you don’t know what to watch. I liked it more than I expected to!

Cobie Smulders and Neil Patrick Harris previously played Robin and Barney Stinson on "How I Met Your Mother" As a huge fan Barney i would definitely getting excited when knowing that Neil Patrict role in this series.His character in this series reminds me of Jim Carrey who crazy funny. This Series consists of 4 Seasons and it is hilarious! I will consider it as dark comedy because of some part of the story line consist of some explainable scene and seems not suitable for younger audience.
