The leaves were cold and slightly clammy. There was no mistaking them. She had seen their likeness painstakingly sketched in her father's journal. This was his greatest secret, his treasure and his undoing. The Tree of Lies. Now it was hers, and the journey he had never finished stretched out before her.

When Faith's father is found dead under mysterious circumstances, she is determined to untangle the truth from the lies. Searching through his belongings for clues, she discovers a strange tree. A tree that feeds off whispered lies and bears fruit that reveals hidden secrets. But as Faith's untruths spiral out of control, she discovers that where lies seduce, truths shatter..

How do I describe The Lie Tree? I have read this book during MCO and honestly for the first 100 pages i have been battling with myself either to keep reading this book or just give up. As the story starts, Faith’s family is moving to a small island, away from everything they know so that Faith’s father can work at a new fossil excavation. Faith having a well taken care of family with several of servants. However out of sudden Faith's family being ignored by the community. No one wants to talk to the family and what's more crucial part is the sudden death of Faith's father. Her father's death classified as an accident but Faith did not believe  it. Faith suspects his death is something else altogether: murder! Faith is a clever girl, being interested into science and artifacts since young.

I would say that the main character in this book being discriminate against women. She lives in a differ world, ruined by have to be a women who stay at home, doing chores and let all the hard work be done by man. Even education itself. But as a young and clever girl, she manage to hide all her feelings. Followed by her curiosity, Faith investigate the death of her father. Its kinda surprise that actually Faith is the reason why her father can't finish his research before death (you have to read it so that you would understand)

How bout the title of the book?something about lie? Yes! A tree that can give answer to almost any question but you have to feed it by lies. Each time you have feed it with the bigger lie than previous. The more people believe it, it will become more fertile. Overall i give
